About Canada Tax Appeal
We started Canada Tax Appeal because checking whether your property assessment is fair shouldn't take a spreadsheet, a free afternoon and a stack of forms. It also shouldn't come in an envelope designed to look like a government notice.
Canada Tax Appeal is a private company. We are not a government body or an assessment authority and are not affiliated with any municipality, MPAC or BC Assessment.

What we promise
- The truth either way. You may be fairly assessed. If you are, we'll tell you.
- The fee before the ask. The price never depends on who you are or what your home is worth. You see the full fee before you sign.
- The assessor first. We ask the assessor to take another look before filing anything formal.
- No pressure. We state real deadlines calmly and once. We won't invent urgency.
- Your neighbours are not our leads. When you share a check with a neighbour, you send the link yourself. We never email or text them, and the link shows public facts only.
Your data stays in Canada
We store your data in Canada, in a Toronto data centre, and keep our encrypted backups in Canada. Sensitive items (notice images, owner access keys, payment references, title documents and call recordings) are encrypted field by field. We collect only what we need for the purpose we tell you about at the time.
How we use automation, and your right to a person
Our recommendations are produced with automated tools. You can ask a person to review any recommendation, and we'll explain the main factors behind it.
Software does the data gathering, the arithmetic and the first draft of paperwork. The numbers you see come from calculations, never from a chatbot's guess. People approve the rules and templates we use, review what we send, talk to assessors and attend hearings. If your file goes to a hearing, a person represents you. Software never appears in front of a board.
How we make money
From the fees on our fee page, and nothing else. We don't sell your data, and we don't take payments from assessors or municipalities. When partners such as realtors refer you, the fee arrangement is disclosed. If a partner receives a referral fee from us, they must tell you before referring you.
Your privacy rights
